MTS currently offers a range of courses to healthcare professionals across all disciplines of health care. Some of our courses have been designed and implemented by MTS as a result of needs identified within the healthcare community. MTS is also licensed to run courses such as the Australian Resuscitation Council Advanced Life Support level 1 and 2 courses. The majority of our courses are in the areas of resuscitation, emergency medicine and core clinical skills such as Intravenous cannulation.
MTS runs courses at a variety of venues in Perth and WA and these are accessible to all healthcare professionals – from public and private institutions, hospital and non-hospital settings as well as metro and remote areas.
As well as running courses for individual healthcare professionals, MTS is also able to provide courses for specific organisations. We are able to travel both locally and remotely within Australia and internationally. Examples of these courses include annual CPR updates for private hospitals and clinics, regular IV cannulation training for a large group of radiology practices and ALS 1 and 2 courses for remote health clinics, private hospitals and mine-site medical staff. If you are interested in running an MTS course for your employees, please contact us to discuss your requirements.
If you have specific training needs, MTS is able to design and implement courses specifically for your organisation. We will discuss your requirements with you and then design a course to meet your needs using our pool of experienced clinicians and educators. Your course will include all course materials as appropriate as well as delivery of the course by one or more of our instructors. All courses include evaluation to identify how well they are received, what level of learning has taken place and to identify areas for alteration of the course to suit participants’ needs. Competency based assessment can also be provided and MTS can organise accreditation by relevant professional bodies as required.
MTS can organise a venue and catering if needed, or can conduct courses in at your own venue.
Train the Trainer Programs
As experienced educators, MTS can also provide training for trainers and educators. We offer one on one coaching and group sessions on teaching and simulation based education. As an accredited Australian Resuscitation Council course centre, we can facilitate every component of the ALS instructor process as well as recertification of current instructors and progression through to course director status.
If you already run in house education programs for your employees, MTS can offer review, advice and assistance with these. Our services include updating clinical information in our areas of speciality, review of course materials, advice on the provision of new programs and evaluation of existing programs.
Clinical Practice Audit and Recommendations for Practice
MTS is also able to offer review and audit of clinical practice. This may be useful for smaller organisations with no access to a quality/audit team. We are able to observe current practice, review policies and guidelines and suggest recommendations for changes to practice.
Skills Centre Design and Development
In conjunction with our partner company Medical Synergies, we can also offer:
-> Design and build of new training centres for health professionals.
-> Design and fit out of existing buildings to create multifunctional education, training and simulation spaces.
-> Refurbishment of existing educational facilities.
